Application Documents
The application documents, all of which can be uploaded digitally to the application portal of the GraduateCentreLMU include:
- A letter of motivation, in which the reasons for the application are articulated in one to two pages
- A tabular curriculum vitae (CV), outlining the applicant's academic background
- An exposé of the dissertation project (two to four pages) with a work plan and timetable (one page) as well as a shortlist of relevant literature (one page)
- The names of the university teachers which have been approached as supervisors for the dissertation project (if no arrangements have been made yet, suggestions can be made)
- All graduation certificates from schools and universities (the grade of the Master's thesis and the overall grade of the degree must be stated)
- A summary of the Master’s thesis (one page)
- Proof of knowledge in one or more relevant source languages
- For applicants who already have a written supervision confirmation by a first supervisor at LMU Munich: a copy of the supervision confirmation
- For applicants who have not yet received a written supervision confirmation from a primary supervisor at LMU Munich: a letter of recommendation from a university lecturer providing information on the applicant's academic potential.
